WHAT IS CBD

Cannabidiol, more commonly known as CBD, is a natural oil/extract derived from the Cannabis Sativa plant, also known as hemp. The distinguishing factor between hemp and marijuana is that hemp has no more than .3% THC. CBD and THC are the primary cannabinoids most people are familiar with, but there are over 100, including minor cannabinoids like CBG, CBN, CBC, and others. There are three main types of CBD; Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum, and Isolate.

Contains every component of the hemp plant, including trace amounts of THC.

CBD LEGALITY

The 2018 Farm Bill legalized CBD use, as well as the regulated production of the Cannabis Sativa plant as long as the THC concentration is below 0.3%. However, States have the final word on whether or not hemp-derived products are legalized within their jurisdiction. While most States allow hemp-derived CBD products, some States still have restrictions on their use.

How is CBD Made?

With the ever-changing nature of the hemp market, Bee’s Knees Wellness feels it is critical to produce holistic products that provide consistent and efficacious experiences. We like to think of it as combining the art of nature with science and technology. This is why we work with the very best manufacturers and independent testing labs in the industry.

GROWTH

While Bee’s Knees Wellness globally sources some of its natural, holistic ingredients, all of our hemp is planted, grown, and harvested in the USA on non-GMO farms.

EXTRACTION

There are several different types of extraction methods for CBD, including manual separation, solvent extraction, ethanol extraction, vegetable oil extraction, and CO2 extraction. The safest method of extraction is the CO2 method, because CO2 is non-volatile. Plant material (in this instance, hemp) is ground and placed in an extraction vessel. CO2 gas then undergoes high temperature and pressure, which forces it into the extraction vessel through a pump. When it moves into the vessel, it starts to dissolve the plant material. After that, a pressure relase valve allows the broken down material to move into a separate vessel with an internal compressor and heater to adjust the pressure and temperature. This allows certain molecules to bond with the CO2, allowing them to be separated from the plant material.

REFINEMENT

After our CBD is extracted, it is refined and distilled to further remove THC to meet Bee’s Knees Wellness rigorous quality standards, All of our manufacturing partners use the best-in-class extraction and refinement technologies to produce pharmaceutical and food-grade CBD.

PRODUCTION

When the refinement phase is complete, Bee’s Knees Wellness CBD is either bottled into our incredible tintures or blended with other natural ingredients to create our incredible wellness products. Each product is then sent to an independent, third-party lab for testing to make sure everything is perfect.

Independent and third-party testing in the CBD industry has become increasingly important, especially when providing a consistent consumer experience. In fact, we think third-party testing is so important that we include our Lab Reports right on our website. The purpose of third-party CBD testing is to provide customers an unbiased, scientific analysis as to the potency, purity, and quality of each product.
